Update 2.4 introduces dedicated battlefield roles for every light tank, alongside role-based matchmaking and targeted balance adjustments. Together, these changes create fairer battles, give every vehicle a clearer battlefield identity, and make it easier to understand each tank's strengths without changing its core playstyle.
Every light tank now belongs to one of three battlefield roles: Scout, Support, or Versatile. These roles better reflect each vehicle's natural strengths without changing its core playstyle.
Light tanks are now matched against vehicles with similar battlefield roles whenever possible. This helps create fairer engagements by ensuring teams field vehicles with comparable strengths.
Wheeled vehicles continue to only face other wheeled vehicles. The

is the only exception, joining the Versatile role while its performance continues to be monitored.
From Tier VII onwards, battles contain no more than two light tanks per team, creating more consistent team compositions and reducing battles overloaded with high-vision vehicles.
Light tanks have always balanced reconnaissance, firepower, and mobility, but not every vehicle excels equally in each area. Update 2.4 introduces dedicated battlefield roles, with each vehicle assigned based on its characteristics, battlefield performance, and overall balance. The result is a clearer identity for every light tank while preserving its familiar playstyle.
Scouts specialise in reconnaissance and enemy detection. Their small size, excellent concealment, and outstanding mobility make them ideal for spotting enemy movements and gathering vital intelligence for the team. Although their firepower is generally more limited, skilled Scout players can have an enormous impact through vision control alone.
Support light tanks trade some concealment for greater offensive potential. Their larger size makes them less effective at competing for vision control, but they make up for it with powerful weapons, strong mobility, and the ability to quickly reposition to exploit enemy weaknesses. They're ideal for players who prefer dealing damage while still supporting their team through opportunistic reconnaissance.
Versatile light tanks combine solid reconnaissance with dependable firepower, making them adaptable in almost any situation. While they won't outperform dedicated Scouts in spotting or Support vehicles in damage output, they can comfortably switch between both roles as the battle develops. They're an excellent choice for players who enjoy flexibility and adapting to changing situations.
