New French Medium Tank: M4A1 Revalorisé

Built in America, redesigned in France and used in the Middle East, the M4A1 Revalorisé is the ultimate evolution of the M4 Sherman.

This new tier VIII Premium medium tank was the result of a French project to mate a 105mm gun with the M4 Sherman, to export to other countries. This gargantuan gun had to fit in a turret designed for a 76mm, which took some clever engineering -- an extension had to be added to the bustle at the rear of the turret.

The Revalorisé design was enthusiastically adopted, especially by the Israeli Defense Force, who wanted to make their M4 Shermans capable of fighting newer Soviet armor. This heavily-armed vehicle, further modified and refined into M-51 Sherman, remained in service well into the latter half of the 20th century.

Features

Damage Per Shot: The Revalorisé is equipped with a 105mm cannon that can deal 390 points of damage to enemy vehicles with every shot. For pure damage, the Revalorisé is comparable to some tier VIII heavy tanks. Only the Chinese T-34-2 and T-34-3 tier VIII medium tanks can hit harder!

Penetration: Able to penetrate 200mm of armor with standard shells and 250mm with Premium shells, the Revalorisé can blow holes in tanks of its tier while making higher-tier enemies sit up and take notice!

View Range: With a view range of 390 meters, the Revalorisé can spot enemies early and destroy them at a distance.

Health: With armor similar to a tier V Sherman, you won’t bounce many shots at tier VIII, but the absence of thick armor is balanced by a generous 1,400 HP. To survive, minimize your hull exposure and be ready to relocate forward or backward in support of your team.

Tactical Role

The M4A1 Revalorisé is perfect for supporting allies and causing substantial damage to enemies from long and medium range. This tank shines as a support vehicle, and should utilize its good view range and gun characteristics to keep the enemy at arm’s length and avoid face-to-face confrontations!

It's important to use terrain and cover to hide the tank’s high profile and deal as much damage as possible. Moving behind better-armored allies and firing into distracted enemies is a viable tactic providing important contributions to victory!
