What’s New?

The core gameplay in this Season will not change significantly compared to the previous fray, but we’ve carefully analyzed your feedback and introduced some slight changes to make Ranked Battles even more enjoyable.

Role Experience: A New Vehicle Role

Reminder: Role Experience was introduced to Ranked Battles to refine the way you play with your favorite tanks. It's earned after every battle according to your performance (such as damage and destroyed enemy vehicles, for instance) and your play style on the battlefield.

Previously, we introduced seven main vehicle roles in battle. In Season 2, we’re adding one more — Versatile Attack Vehicle. This category includes medium tanks with low mobility, but decent armor. They're particularly effective in close- and mid-range battles, providing great support for vehicles with the role of "Defender." To earn as much Role XP as possible, Versatile Attack Vehicles must:

  • Block damage
  • Deal damage to vehicles within your view range

The following tanks are considered the most "typical" representatives of the new Role XP category: Object 430U, E 50 Ausf. M, and M48A5 Patton.

Matchmaker Tweaks

One of the matchmaker's primary goals is to get you into battles with comparable and competitive teams. To provide you with a more convenient gameplay environment, we tweaked the matchmaker a bit so wheeled vehicles are matched separately from tracked tanks. As a result, there are noticeably fewer battles where one team has a wheeled vehicle and the other doesn't.

Reworking the mechanics of earning XP for the destruction of enemy vehicles

The amount of XP you get for destroyed vehicles now depends on the total damage you deal to that enemy. You only earn maximum XP if you're the one who dealt all the damage to the destroyed vehicle.

Annual Rewards

Let's talk about the most tantalizing topic — Annual Rewards! The more Tokens you collect in both Seasons, the better the Annual Reward. Depending on your performance, you can get your hands on:

  • Small Reward for 3 Rank Tokens: Contains Personal Reserves and a special Rank Classic, Variant 3 style.
  • Standard Reward for 5 Rank Tokens: Contains the Innovative Loading System and a special Rank Classic, Variant 2 style.
  • Advanced Reward for 9 Rank Tokens: Contains the unique Kampfpanzer 50 t, Innovative Loading System, Stabilizing Equipment System, and a special Rank Classic, Variant 1 style.
  • Maximum Reward for 12 Rank Tokens. Contains the unique Kampfpanzer 50 t, Innovative Loading System, Stabilizing Equipment System, Venting System, and a special Rank Classic, Variant 1 style.

The Annual Reward you’re currently entitled to will be highlighted in your Garage, depending on the number of Rank Tokens you have earned over both Seasons.

The most coveted trophy for every Commander is the German Kampfpanzer 50 t Tier IX medium tank. It’s a maneuverable vehicle with decent armor, great dynamics and a good combination of alpha damage and DPM. One of its most striking features is its extravagant design, which is unusual for German tanks. This is an absolute must-have for your vehicle collection that's sure to spark the envy of other Commanders!

The final reward pool also includes "Rank Classic," a brand-new unique 2D Style that's credited to your account permanently and comes in three variants:

You can redeem your Annual Reward according to the total number of Rank Tokens you've collected, even if you do not make it to any of the Leagues in the upcoming Season.

You're entitled to rewards for reaching Divisions — they haven't changed since Season 1. Season rewards include a unique 2D Style for Tier X vehicles, one for each League, and you must participate in future Ranked Battles Seasons to retain it. You can refer to our Ranked Battles Guide for a refresher on available rewards.

How Can I Redeem My Annual Reward?

Don’t worry, your Annual Reward will be credited to your account automatically, within two weeks of completing Season 2 — you just need to log into the game client. Any remaining Rank Tokens are converted to Bonds at the following rate:

1 Rank Token = 500 Bonds

Compensation also occurs automatically within two weeks of the end of Season 2.

EXAMPLE: For both Seasons of Ranked Battles 2019–2020, you have earned 10 Rank Tokens. In this case, you will receive an Advanced Annual Reward, which costs 9 Rank Tokens. The remaining 1 Rank Token will be compensated with 500 Bonds within two weeks of the end of Season 2.
