Vehicle Description

A Tier VIII French medium tank with decent penetration and good depression/elevation angles. This vehicle features nice dynamics and can take advantage of terrain irregularities due to its reliable gun mantlet. However, keep in mind its low durability and weak armor, and avoid open areas.

Historical Reference

In 1958, the AMX company started developing a new medium tank under the Franco-German Standardpanzer (Standard Tank) program. It was supposed to be a 30-ton vehicle with high mobility and a powerful gun. Initially, the project was designated the Char 30 AP and featured a French 105-mm F1 cannon. Over the course of its development, the vehicle was constantly modified and, finally, turned into the AMX 30. The project was discontinued after one scale wooden prototype had been built.
