K9s For Warriors was founded in 2011. As of April 2023, the organization has paired 873 Warrior/K9 teams and has saved over 1,800 dogs. Determined to end veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma. Their program is free for veterans. With the majority of dogs coming from high-kill rescue shelters, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.
As of December 2022, Wargaming and the World of Tanks community has raised over $67,000. With that achievement comes the dedication of a kennel and now the naming of a service dog that will be provided to a veteran in need.
The organization’s three primary business operation facilities include K9s For Warriors National Headquarters (Ponte Vedra, FL), Gold Family Campus (Alachua, FL), and Petco Love K9 Center (San Antonio, Texas).
