Vehicle Description

A Tier II German light tank. It is assembled from parts of the Renault R35 and T-26 vehicles and is a successor to them. Its powerful 45 mm gun is mounted on a sturdy hull that makes this hybrid a full-fledged combat unit on the battlefield.

Historical Reference

In 1940, the German Army received more than 800 of the very popular French Renault R35 new generation light tanks, which were renamed the Panzerkampfwagen 35 R 731 (f), or Pz.Kpfw. 35 R, a few months later. The vehicle's turret was too cramped, and its armament was considered weak even for secondary operations. As a result, several tank units received the converted Pz.Kpfw. 35 R tanks with turrets from captured Soviet T-26 vehicles. It is unknown where or by whom these vehicles were reworked.
