Common Test 1: List of Changes
ExpandMain Changes
New Tier XI Vehicles
Three new researchable Tier XI vehicles that continue the existing vehicle branches have been added to the Tech Tree with non-final characteristics. They can be viewed, researched, and purchased, but not used in battle during testing:
Gorilla — American tank destroyer, researched after the T110E4. It features a Multi-Pack Charge System that enables its gun to fire with reduced efficiency before it fully reloads.
Fauteur — French heavy tank, researched after the AMX M4 mle. 54. It features an Induction Propellant Afterburner that automatically accumulates charge over time, which is partially consumed to boost damage when firing. The charge has a limit that can be manually disabled for even more damage, at the cost of worsened gun handling.
Executor — British medium tank researched after the Concept No. 5. It features a High-Pressure Turbocharger Assist system that boosts its acceleration, engine power, and top forward and reverse speed for a short time. Maintaining a high movement speed reduces the mechanic's cooldown time.
Map Changes
Klondike
The map has been redesigned for Standard Battles: its size has been reduced and most positions have been reworked. The central area has been expanded to diversify gameplay for light tanks, while the southern part of the map now features fortified positions to allow heavy tanks to engage each other more safely. The northern area's terrain features make it more comfortable for medium tanks, and terrain has also been modified around the base areas and close to the map borders.
- Map Size
The map has been reduced from 1400x1400 to 1100x1100 m to better fit the Standard Battles format. - Port Area (H7-H9, J7-J8, G8-G9)
The southeast has been completely redesigned and cover has been added to make gameplay more diverse for all vehicle types. - Route Adjustment (J6-K6, J7, F9-F0, G9)
The approaches to the port area have been reworked, with extra cover added to provide safer routes toward key positions. - Center (F5-F6, Е5-Е6)
Undulating terrain and new flora have been added to improve the gameplay experience for light and maneuverable vehicles. - Defensive Positions Near Bases (H3-G4, B7-C7-D7)
New positions for tank destroyers allow for increased control of the central part of the map and covering fire for allied vehicles. - Terrain Modification (C5-D5, B4-B5, E2-E4, D2)
New terrain and vegetation have been added for greater variety in both offensive and defensive play. - Area Behind Bases (А8-А0, B8-B0, K1-K2, J1-J2, H1-H2)
New ravines and vegetation have been added behind the bases to diversify gameplay in the later stages of battle.
Serene Coast
The main goal of the changes is to offer more opportunities for heavy tanks and well-armored vehicles by introducing new positions and improving overall connectivity. This should make gameplay more dynamic and varied, while still preserving the map’s advantages for fast and sniper-focused vehicles.
- Center (C2-F5)
A hill with a railway tunnel has been added, and the whole central area has been reworked to allow well-armored vehicles to fight across a range of distances and levels. - Upper Direction (1st and 2nd Lines)
This area has been adjusted along with the center of the map. Now maneuverable and weaker-armored vehicles can fight here, using camouflage and engaging enemies on the front line as well as vehicles near the top of the central hill. - Coastline (E7-H9)
The coastal area has been reworked to improve gameplay for long-distance snipers. The positions open up lines of sight to enemies on the front line, tank destroyers, and vehicles in the center of the map. - Tank Destroyer Positions (H6, D7)
New positions for TDs have been added for better control of the lake's shoreline, and shoot-throughs have opened up to the top of the central hill.
Pearl River
Changes to the southwestern and central areas aim to refresh the gameplay experience and better support the strengths of maneuverable vehicles, snipers, and scouts, which previously had limited options on this map. The cover and timings in the northeastern heavy tank direction have also been adjusted to improve balance between teams.
- Center
A new route has been added to the central hill in F5, allowing different types of vehicles to occupy it. The cave has been moved to F4-G5, meaning it no longer blocks firing lines, while a new hill in G4 divides the direction and provides equal opportunities for fast vehicles from both teams. - New Cover (F0)
New cover in this area provides heavy tanks a safer advance toward the enemy base. - Heavy Tank Direction (B8-E0)
The heavy tank direction is now more balanced in terms of cover and time to reach key positions. - Tank Destroyer Positions (F2, K4)
These TD positions have been made more comfortable and balanced.
Battle Route Tips
A feature that highlights the most popular combat zones on the minimap has been added.
The zones appear for a short time at the start of battle, showing the most popular points of initial contact. They are displayed on all maps for Tier VI–XI vehicles of all types except light tanks.
The feature is enabled by default for some players, and can be disabled or enabled at any time in the game settings (Settings → General → Tips → Enable combat zones on minimap).

Commanders,
The Update 2.2.1 Common Test has arrived—with a peek at three new Tier XI vehicles, four empowered vehicle lines, three reworked maps, Battle Route Tips, changes to Onslaught, and more. Read on to learn the details!
Three New Tier XI Vehicles
- The Gorilla is researched after the
X
T110E4 . Its Tier XI special ability is Multi-Pack Charge System which enables its gun to fire shots before it fully reloads (with reduced efficiency).
- The Fauteur is researched after the
X
AMX M4 mle. 54 . Its Tier XI special ability is Induction Propellant Afterburner. This system automatically accumulates electrical charge over time, which is partially consumed to boost damage when firing. The charge has a limit that can be manually disabled for even more damage (at the cost of worsened gun handling).
- The Executor is researched after the
X
Concept No. 5 . Its Tier XI special ability is High-Pressure Turbocharger Assist which boosts its acceleration, engine power, plus top forward and reverse speed for a short time. Maintaining a high movement speed shortens the cooldown time of the ability.
Four Vehicle Branches Empowered
Multiple stats were improved for vehicles in four branches leading to Tier XIs:
All Tier VIII–XI vehicles in these lines have been empowered to reach their projected battlefield performance in their intended gameplay niches. The only exception is the
X
FV230 Canopener
, which is already a strong performer.
Along with these researchable vehicles, two Premium ones saw their stats improved:
For the full list of balancing changes, please refer to the patch notes.
Redrawn Maps
The Klondike map from Grand Battles was adapted for Random Battles. Pearl River and Serene Coast experienced significant changes.
Klondike
The map size was reduced from 1,400×1,400 m to 1,100×1,100 m. The coastal zone in the south was reworked, now featuring a seaport with approaches offering many covered positions for heavily armored vehicles. The central area was expanded, and its terrain now features more folds and vegetation, benefiting light tanks. The northern part of the map is now most suitable for medium tanks.
Pearl River
The map now features an additional route to the central hill in the southwest, equally accessible to both teams; the cave is now below it. The main heavy tank direction is more balanced in terms of cover and the time required to reach the key positions for both sides. Multiple new positions for light tanks, medium tanks, and tank destroyers were added across the entire location.
Serene Coast
The zones that usually see the most fighting were heavily reworked. The center of the map now features a massive rock formation with a train tunnel, and well-armored vehicles can engage the enemy at multiple elevations and over various distances. The direction farthest from the sea now suits maneuverable vehicles with good camo, and the coastline favors snipers.
Battle Route Tips
This experimental feature works as its name implies. During the 30-second pre-battle countdown, you can see on the minimap the suggested areas of optimal performance you may consider moving to. These zones depend on your vehicle type and role.
- The feature supports Tier VI–XI vehicles of all types except light tanks, on all maps except those exclusive for lower-tier vehicles.
- Suggested zones offer alternatives to TDs, medium and heavy tanks ("Brawling", "Sniping", "Universal"). Arty players only see zones marked "Artillery".

Battle Route Tips are based on data collected across a large number of battles and, for new and recently rebalanced maps, on developer recommendations. The feature is active by default for some players, and can be disabled or enabled in game settings.

Onslaught
The Season of the Jade Dragon will be the final one in the Year of the Dragon; at its end, the best players will pick up the main annual reward—the
X
Ashbringer
. The new season will introduce some changes and additions.
- Vehicle bans: During the pre-battle countdown, players can vote out one vehicle on their team. The outcome is determined by the majority vote. If two or more vehicles are tied, a single one will be chosen randomly among them. The player in the banned vehicle will be prompted to select a different one. The vehicles with the most votes in each team will be banned for both teams. Both teams vote independently and may end up banning the same vehicle, different ones, or no vehicle at all.
- Pre-configured rental vehicles: The Object 140 7×7, the Foch B 7×7, and the T57 Heavy 7×7 will arrive with four-perk crews, predefined sets of ammunition, plus pre-installed equipment and consumables. The players can change the ammunition but cannot remove the equipment or crew, or change the crew members' perks. The consumables work like built-in Large Repair Kits in Battle Pass Tier IX reward vehicles.
- Expanded vehicle pool: The list of vehicles allowed in the mode now includes the
X
Vz. 60S Dravec , the
X
Ares 90 , and the
X
Carro da Combattimento 45 t .
- Reworked maps: Changes to Airfield, plus minor adjustments to Erlenberg and Safe Haven.
WoT Plus: Now With Leox
Starting with Update 2.2.1, the users of both tiers of WoT Plus subscription (Core and Pro) will enjoy an additional benefit: the Leox. Just like the TS-54, this agile Tier IX Premium medium tank with a Spanish-themed 2D style will be available as long as the WoT Plus is active. (The 2D style will remain on the account even after the subscription has expired.) Try the Leox out for free during the Common Test!
