Today is Jean Henry Durant's birthday. This name may not be as familiar as, say, Thomas Edison, but his historical contributions are no less significant. Durant founded the International Committee of the Red Cross and was the first recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. The ICRC won three Nobel Peace Prizes — the most for any organization.
