Need reinforcements? Just in time for the Battle of Kursk Challenge 2021, you can score a sweet deal on three (3) Soviet tanks, Styles, and more items with these bundles. Please note the "Kantemirovets" 3D Style is exclusive to the T-34-85 (not the T-34-85M). You can find the T-34-85 on the U.S.S.R. Tech Tree.
A number of Churchill III heavy tanks, sent by the U.K. to the U.S.S.R. as part of Lend-Lease, participated in the Battle of Prokhorovka as part of the 5th Guards Tank Army, in the 15th and 36th regiments.
The T-34 shielded was an attempt by Soviet engineers to improve the armor of the already iconic T-34 to better withstand fire from most German anti-tank guns. All produced prototypes were sent to the front by 1943, and some were at Kursk.
The improvement in German guns and armor since 1942 forced the Soviets to improve their own anti-tank equipment. The engagements at Kursk against Tigers I and Panthers made this necessity even more evident, which rushed the already ongoing development of the resulting machine: the T-34-85, which boosted more armor and a more effective gun. The T-34-85M was a further evolution of this effective medium tank, but was cancelled in favor of other projects.
3D Style: "Kantemirovets"
Exclusive to the T-34-85, the Style is a tribute to a tank belonging to the Soviet 17th Tank Division, nicknamed "Kantemirovsky" after the feat of this unit in the capture of the city of Kantemirovka in 1943. On the side is the combat path of the division, starting at Stalingrad, through Kursk, and ending in Prague.
Note: The "Kantemirovets" 3D Style is only for the T-34-85 (not the T-34-85M, which is part of the Heroes of Kursk bundle). A Soviet vehicle on the U.S.S.R. Tech Tree, the T-34-85 is not available via the Premium Shop.
