There are unforgettable vehicles in World of Tanks that have long departed from the battlefield. An ancient belief in Mexico, however, claims cherished friends return to greet those still fighting once a year—but only if they are properly honored.
Some say it's possible to take a peek at the other side if one truly wishes. Beware, though: If the miracle happens, it's a lifetime opportunity, and when you return to the battlefield, you may have a few special gifts.
The Día de Muertos excitement kicks off Tuesday, November 1. Battle through a series of missions to earn the special "Day of the Dead" 2D style along with other astonishing customization items for your favorite vehicles!
"Day of the Dead" Customization: A True Tribute to Día de Muertos!
The main reward of these missions is the 2D style themed around Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), a long-traditional Mexican fiesta. This colorful 2D style contains typical elements featured in this holiday, like sugar skulls (calaveras), and it changes color according to the map setting.
The style may be equipped in any vehicle regardless of its nation and tier, and it will prevent your presence in the battlefield to pass unnoticed to both foes and allies. Main reward aside, other interesting items are up for grabs, like customization items inspired by Día de Muertos—take a look in the following tabs:

The "protagonist" in both wallpapers is the HWK 30. Why? Because it was one of many results of a joint collaboration between Tyssen Henschel Wehrtechnik GmbH of West Germany and the Secretary of National Defense of Mexico to conceive a family of armored vehicles for the Mexican Army. The project, however, remained in blueprints only and was never produced.
The HWK 30 uses the dedicated 2D style of "Day of the Dead."
In the 2020 wallpaper, the HWK 30 is wandering through a cemetery during Day of the Dead.
In the 2021 wallpaper:
The HWK 30 serves as an altar, containing various typical elements of Day of the Dead.
You can also find photos of the TNCA Salinas tank, the first-ever produced tank in Mexican history (we are mimicking the "remember the dead" thing about Day of the Dead)
In a similar fashion of "remember the dead" of Day of the Dead, the wallpaper hangar is the original hangar of the game.
