World of Tanks Generals Closed Beta Test

The time is nigh! World of Tanks Generals is gearing up for its first closed beta test. We have previously teased and given glimpses of this new addition to the Wargaming family, but soon we will give lucky players the chance to try it for themselves. That chance begins with the closed beta test, which is open to applications now. Closed beta begins March 2!

What is World of Tanks Generals?

World of Tanks Generals is a free-to-play, turn-based collectible card game that like World of Tanks features epic World War II warfare. With numerous cards available, each battle turns into an intense combination of sudden strikes, massive onslaughts, and cunning tactical trickery in highly dynamic one-on-one online combat.

Based on your own unique playing style, construct a deck from over 200 unique cards and crush your enemies. Cards are split between three nations (USA, Germany and USSR), with cards that represent units and commands such as tanks, headquarters, artillery, orders and squads, as well as special bonus cards that grant additional firepower or defenses, adding an extra dimension of strategy to gameplay.

Available through your web browser, World of Tanks Generals doesn’t require installation of a game client,. As long as your device has an internet connection, the battle will always be at your fingertips. World of Tanks Generals also has the unified structure of Wargaming.net accounts, meaning player accounts can be used on Generals, World of Tanks, World of Warplanes, and World of Warships.

Closed Beta Features

Players accepted into the closed beta test will have access to nearly 200 different cards to trade, research/unlock, and battle with during the game, beginning with a deck of two dozen cards.

Progression in World of Tanks Generals is accomplished by completing combat missions and destroying enemy units in the player-versus-player battles that regularly occur. Familiar concepts such as Credits and Experience work much the same way in Generals, and players can also earn Premium currency -- in this case, beta-only Tokens -- that can be spent on purchasing Credits or rare Premium cards.

In addition, equipment and consumables play a role in Generals, as well. These items can enhance the combat effectiveness of cards, modify one's hand, and more.
