December 16, 1944. In the dense misty forests of the Ardennes, Belgium, Hitler and his generals had carefully concentrated a powerful force in secrecy. Their mission was to surprise the Allied forces with a powerful attack and to drive a wedge between them, their ultimate goal being the recapture of the Port of Antwerp. It was the start of what would later be known as the Battle of the Bulge.
The Allied units who initially faced the onslaught of elite German armor were understrength and caught by surprise. However, the Allies were able to overcome their initial shock with powerful counterattacks led by their own armored units.
