Frontline 2020: Stage 3 is available for one week, on NA servers. This is your chance to participate in and experience epic 30v30 battles, win heaps of rewards, and join the race for formidable reward tanks!

Wait — How Do I Access Frontline?

  • In the Garage, click on "Random Battle" (to the right of the big red "Battle!" button) at the top of the screen.
  • Select "Frontline" from the pull-down menu.
  • Pick a Tier VIII vehicle, and then click the "Battle!" button.

Don’t forget your progression in Frontline lets you earn formidable tanks, including:

Object 777 Variant II Char Futur 4 AE Phase I
A brand-new Soviet heavy tank. A unique new French medium tank.
(See our review.)
An American heavy tank with four segmented tracks.

You can get a second reward tank (or collect the missing Tokens for the first one) by playing and earning Tokens in the Steel Hunter event, which kicks off in the second half of 2020.

You don’t have to play both modes — the 12 Tokens you need to get one tank can be obtained by completing all the Stages of a single mode, or a combination of Stages from both modes.

Compensation for Remaining Tokens at the End of the 2020 Season

After completing the Expedition Season 2020, you can get compensation for all your remaining Tokens, regardless of whether you have enough to purchase a reward tank or not.

After all Stages are over, you still have time to exchange Tokens for unique reward tanks, if you haven’t grabbed them yet.

After this period is complete, all your remaining tokens are automatically compensated at the rate of 1 Token = 250 Bonds, even if there are enough to exchange for reward tanks. To get Bonds, you just need to log in to the game client.

Note: You can exchange your Tokens for unique reward vehicles at any time, as soon as you earn enough of them.

Also, we’ve got intel on Stage 4: It starts May 25 at 04:00 PT | 06:00 CT | 07:00 ET on NA servers, until June 1 at 01:00 PT | 03:00 CT | 04:00 ET. Get ready for even more epic battles!

Char Futur 4: Review of the Expedition Reward Vehicle

Just 12 Expedition Tokens and you'll become a real problem for your enemies!

In the late '80s, GIAT Industries developed one of the best modern tanks — the AMX-56 Leclerc. While they were searching for a main combat vehicle, the French created several vehicle prototypes, one of which was Projet 4, or the Char Futur.

To receive the Char Futur 4, you must prove your worth in battle during the Expedition and collect 12 Tokens as proof of your valor.

Typically French
  • Thanks to its compact oscillating turret, this newcomer resembles the Bat.-Châtillon 25 t and Lorraine 40 t.
  • The vehicle crew consists of three (3) tankers: the Commander, who operates the radio and loads shells; the Gunner, who also received an additional qualification as a Loader; and the Driver.
  • The vehicle has a pretty good view range for Tier IX at 380 meters and a signal range of 750 meters. Good numbers for a medium tank.
  • One of the vehicle's advantages is its low profile. The vehicle's Concealment value when stationary is 16.13; on the move, it's 12.08.
  • Moving on to defense, the Char Futur can't boast about its hull armor. Its front is covered with a 55 mm plate, the sides have 40 mm, and rear has 30 mm of armor. Avoid engaging in a fight against an enemy wielding an HE gun.
  • The Char Futur's turret is covered with 140 mm of steel at the front, creating a chance for a ricochet.
  • The sides of the turret have 90 mm of armor, but the rear has only 30 mm. This relatively strong and heavy front affected the turret traverse speed, which is 30 deg/s, just like the German E 50.
  • The main armament of the vehicle is a 105 mm gun with an autoloader that can upset any enemy on the battlefield.
  • The gun penetrates 264 mm of steel with a standard shell and 330 mm with a HEAT shell. Its four-shell autoloader with 390 damage per shot delivers such firepower that even a German Maus would think twice before confronting it.
  • To send an enemy to the Garage, you don't have to get up close and personal like when you play the Bat.-Châtillon 25 t. The 105 mm gun has a dispersion of 0.34 m, allowing it to play as a sniper and shoot the enemy's weak points from afar.
  • The Char Futur 4 is not a fast reloader. The time between shots is 4 seconds, while the full reload time is 40 seconds. These numbers dictate a "shoot — fall back — shoot" playstyle. The aiming time of the gun is 2.2 seconds, which is not so bad.
  • The Char Futur 4 doesn't have much armor, so it's pretty agile. You can accelerate to a top speed of 60 km/h. Its specific power of 23 hp/t and engine with 620 horsepower won't win a drag race, but its maneuverability is indisputable.

Who Are You, Chevalier Char Futur 4?

Thanks to its characteristics, the Char Futur 4 is a formidable vehicle that can play on the second and third line. It can quickly react to threats by switching flanks if neededIts gun allows it to take almost any enemy head-on, which means it can eliminate dangerous enemy vehicles leading the attack and not suffer return fire.

Just 12 Expedition tokens and you'll become a real problem for your enemies!
