9.3 Public Test

The Public Test server is live now! A new version of the test is also now live; see the Notes section below.

Tankers!

By taking part in the Public Test, you can tell us all about your thoughts and suggestions on upcoming updates to World of Tanks. This means we can review your feedback and continue making changes before the update goes live.

All World of Tanks players are eligible to take part in the Public Test as long as they registered before August 25. You don't need to be an experienced tester to join in, you just need to be willing to try out as many of the new features as you can, test out new vehicles and send us your feedback!

Main Features

For the full list of changes, please see the Notes section below.

  • The content provided for testing should not be considered as final and is subject to change. We strongly encourage you to send us your feedback and opinions as they are very important to help us to improve the features

How the Public Test Works

To participate in the test you need to take the following steps:

  • Install a small client file found here (7.5GB)
  • Update World of Tanks via the launcher
  • If you have already installed the Public Test/Common Test game client, the launcher will update to the new version automatically

Be sure to install the Test launcher in a different folder from the current game client version. Also, close all game clients before installing the update.

Please keep in mind certain features of the Public Test server:

  • Payments are not accepted on the server
  • All test accounts will receive a one-time payment of:
    • 100,000,000 XP
    • 100,000,000
    • 20,000
  • Progress won't be transferred to the main NA server
  • Credits and experience rates will not be increased for this test

Strongholds 1.1

Strongholds will be testing improvements as part of the Public Test (see FAQ for more). The following features will be available in the Public Test:

  • Possibility to create a Stronghold and upgrade it to Level 10
  • Ability to build Structures that produce special Reserves (bonuses), which can be upgraded to Level 10
  • Possibility to participate in a Skirmish to earn Industrial Resources with 5x income rate for Resources
  • Possibility to set a "Defending period" for a Stronghold
  • Ability to attack other Clans' Strongholds
  • New building: "Chancellery," which will deploy reserves. The reserves will generate missions for all Clan members in random battles
  • New functionality for Legionnaires which will give the possibility for a Clan to invite up to 5 players, who are not in a Clan, to participate in Skirmish battles
  • No limits for players who are assigned to buildings
  • Positions in a Clan will be changed

In Update 9.3 we are planning to release new Clan positions and rework the available operations players have based on the positions in their Clans. More information will be released when time permits.

Only Clans that have been registered before August 25 can participate in this part of the Public Test. Please be aware that all Clan tags will be changed randomly during the Public Test.

  • The 48-hour cooldown timer to change a Clan is disabled on Public Test

Special changes for Strongholds on Public Test server:

  • Any Clan member can create a Stronghold
  • All Clan tags are renamed (you will receive a random tag)
  • Skirmishes have a 5x income rate
  • The 48-hour Clan operation cooldown is turned off

Additional things to note:

  • Before you make any Clan operation on the Public Test portal, make sure you're running the Public Test game client
  • All changes made to a Clan apply only to the Public Test!
  • These Strongholds updates may not necessarily apply to the final release of Update 9.3. Consider these changes applicable to the Public Test only

Public Test Notes

These update notes are preliminary and do not contain full details of some vehicle characteristic changes. The detailed list of these changes will be provided in the final patch notes upon release

KV-1:

KV-1S:

  • KV-1S branches out into two vehicles: KV-1S (Tier V) and KV-85 (Tier VI)

KV-85:

  • After the KV-1S has been moved to Tier V, the KV-85 replaces it on Tier VI
  • The KV-85 does not have any notable differences in terms of armor protection, but has better dynamics
  • Top speed of the KV-85 is lower than that of the KV-1S -- 34 km/h versus 43 km/h
  • The main difference between the tanks is in the mounted guns. The KV-85 has kept its 122mm D2-5Т gun, although the gun's parameters were significantly rebalanced when compared to the gun of the KV-1S. Unlike with the KV-1S, the D2-5Т gun, mounted on the KV-85 is more of an alternative gun with peculiar gameplay, while the 100mm С-34 gun serves as the main gun, and is similar to the D10-T gun, which is well-known to players. This gun has good accuracy and stabilization -- which was not typical of Soviet guns -- as well as one of the highest damage per minute ratios of its tier. Another considerable difference between the KV-85 and the KV-1S is that the vehicles have different gun depression angles: 3 degrees for the KV-85's top guns, and 8 degrees for the KV1S's D2-5T gun
