9.2 Public Test

The public test server is now online!

Tankers!

It's important for the development of the game to get as much feedback on the changes as possible. By taking part in the Public Test, you can tell us all about your thoughts and suggestions on upcoming updates. This means we can review your feedback and continue making changes before the update goes live.

All World of Tanks players are eligible to take part in the Public Test as long as they registered before June 30, 2014. You don't need to be an experienced tester to join in, you just need to be willing to try out as many of the new features as you can, test out new vehicles and send us your feedback!

Main Features

  • New Stronghold mode for Clan warfare
  • New awards for Team Battle mode

For the full list of changes, please see the Notes section below.

Disclaimer
  • The Public Test will use a new graphic technology called "physically based shading" that is planned to be the basis for the future graphical changes in 2014, such as HD vehicle models
  • The content provided for testing should not be considered as final and is subject to change. We strongly encourage you to send us your feedback and opinions as they are very important to help us to improve the features.

How the Public Test Works

To participate in the test you need to take the following steps:

  • Install a small client file found here
  • Update World of Tanks via the launcher
  • If you have already installed the Public Test/Common Test game client, the launcher will update to the new version automatically

Be sure to install the Test launcher in a different folder from the current game client version. Also, close all game clients before installing the update.

Please keep in mind certain features of the Public Test server;

  • Payments are not accepted on the server
  • All test accounts will receive a one-time stipend of:
    • 100,000,000 XP
    • 100,000,000
    • 20,000
    • Progress won't be transferred to the main NA server
    • Credits and experience rates will not be increased for this test

Strongholds

Strongholds is a new game mode for Clans which will be available in the game client and will not be connected to the Global Map nor to Clan Wars.

The following features are available in the Public Test:

  1. Construction of a Stronghold up to tier IV
  2. Construction of Buildings which brings Reserves (bonuses) up to tier IV
  3. Skirmishes with x5 income boost in Industrial Resources

Please note that you will not be able to attack other clans' Strongholds in the Public Test

Only Clans registered in World of Tanks before 13:59 PDT (16:59 EDT) on June 30, 2014 can take a part in Strongholds on the Public Test.

If you are not a member of a Clan, you can create a free test Clan or you can join a Clan.

Special changes to Strongholds during the Public Test only:
  • A Clan with any number of members may create a Stronghold
  • A Clan may create zones with any number of members occupying them
  • Any Clan member may create a Stronghold, not only the Commander
  • All Clan tags will be randomly changed
  • Skirmishes will receive a x5 boost in income
  • Cooldown period for Clan operations, which is usually 48 hours, will be disabled
  • All progress or changes made in the Public Test regarding your Clan including Clan creation, changes in position, and entering a clan only affects the Public Test server and will not be transferred to the NA server
