Personal Rating
In order to make ‘Personal Rating’ fairer and easier to understand, the calculation formula in version 8.9 has received some changes:
- Reduced the battle limit for Personal Rating calculations
- Personal Rating is a representation of a player’s skill and experience within World of Tanks. By participating in games, a player learns the nuances of tactics and game mechanics, polishes new skills, and starts to learn the game in general. But in the first version of ‘Personal Rating,’ the importance of the battle amount was overvalued. That’s why we decided to rework the influence of this parameter. Now, during Personal Rating calculations, the amount of battles is a coefficient which multiplies the sum of other formula components. The influence of this coefficient, starting from 8.9, will be the following:
- After reaching 500 battles, count coefficient is 0.1
- After reaching 3,000 battles, count coefficient is 0.5
- After reaching 5,000 battles, count coefficient is 0.7
- After reaching 9,000 battles, count coefficient is 0.9
- After 9,000 battles, count coefficient will gradually increase to 1
- This way, with an increase of battle amounts, the game skills and the level of a player’s experience will be shown properly.
- Added limit to avoid dramatically increasing rating by abusing several percentage parameters
- In the first version of the ‘Personal Rating’ formula, there was only one limit, which prevented abuse of the win/loss ratio. In update 8.9, such limits are added to other percentage parameters: survivability and accuracy. This means that any of these parameters will influence ‘Personal Rating’ up to a certain limit. Statistics analysis has shown that exceeding that limit is usually possible with abuses and not gameplay. Extreme values won’t influence the formula anymore.
- Removed low limits from 'average damage' and 'average XP per battle.' This was done in order to improve player statistics, and players who want to improve and show class in overall game skills without concentrating on one parameter and disregarding another.

- We removed Maybach HL 62 TRM from Marder II as it’s absolutely non-historical. Besides, additional differences in power between top and stock engines bring crucial travers speed reduction of the vehicle with stock engine. In other words we buff stock engine , which is important for 3 tier. We believe that it will be useful for newcomers. Moreover, we never encourage experienced players participating in low level battles.
- 5cm PaK 39 L/60 gun was removed from Marder II as useless and irrelevant module. Besides, we paid our attention for the rest modules. Speaking about armor penetration of 76mm gun, in reality it was worse than we have in game. German army didn’t use 76mm gun on Marder 38t. Currently, the difference between 76mm and 75mm guns correct: 75mm gun is better than 76mm.
- Conversion:
- If _50mm_PaK_39_L60 gun was researched on Marder II, _76mm_PaK_36r gun will be researched.

- Also we’ve added to the tank first turret 8,8cm Kw.K. 36 L/56 gun. Historically, it was in this way. Inclination angles are also historically correct now. Overall it’s a buff, but since this vehicle was not over performing at best, we decided not to balance that out with nerfs.
VI Pz.Kpfw. V/IV
- Engine and tank durability is now worse, but view range is better
- Gun is changed: it reloads faster, but is less accurate
- All changes were done due to addition of historical declination angles, which are now up to 10 (in version 8.8 it was up to to 3). This was considered a buff, which required balancing. That’s why the engine was changed according to historical documents
- Hit points were reduced in order not to change other important characteristics.
- As the vehicle is rather mobile, but not having the best gun for tier VI, it was decided to convert it to have faster firing but slower aiming. Aiming is now closer to non-Premium variant
