Game Features

  • Updated display of vehicle characteristics in the Garage:
    • Simplified vehicle characteristics which are now arranged into five expandable groups
    • Added new characteristics to the main list
    • Vehicle characteristics are now dynamically updated to reflect any changes to vehicle Crew, equipment, consumables, or modules
    • New info in tooltips about the way modules, equipment, and consumables influence the vehicle's characteristics
  • Added a preview screen which allows you to preview any vehicles not yet purchased, with any modules and parameters in the 3D scene (available via the "Research" screen in the Tech Tree)
  • Basic PvE Tutorial:
    • Changed the composition of the team, the teams now have 15 players from each side
    • Reduced the waiting time in queue, added the ability to launch a battle as a solo player. The first battle in the mode will be fought as part of a team filled with bots, if the player has 0 battles fought on their account. The enemy team will also be made of bots
    • Added a starting point at the upper base
    • Implemented alternative bot behavior scenarios on the Mittengard and Mines maps
  • Changed the base capture bar. Added the information about the number of capturers and the time left until the base is captured. A maximum of 3 capturers will be shown because the speed with which the base is captured does not increase if there are more than 3 players capturing it
  • Enabled the "Save addressee in battle" setting by default for all players, which forces the system to remember the last addressee in Chat until the end of the battle
  • Added a warning that informs the player that the battle is coming to an end
  • Improved several aspects of the improved vehicle movement physics:
    • Fixed an issue with the overly high damage caused when driving downhill
    • Decreased the probability that your vehicle will overturn when performing a maneuver
    • Fixed an issue with vehicles getting stuck to other vehicles or objects
  • Added new filters to the vehicle carousel in the Garage
  • Added sounds upon activation of Camouflage Net and Binocular Telescope
  • Added the ability to select the type of the sound system in the Sound tab of Settings, which allows you to further fine-tune the positioning of sound sources in battle
  • Added a new aiming indicator: full circle
  • Added two new magnification options in Sniper aim: x16 and x25
  • The number of shells in the status bar in battle is now larger
  • Added a promo screen display button
  • Replaced the intro video and changed the mechanics of its playback: the video is now played only once and then appears again only after an update
  • Added the readings for latency and server state in the login screen and the Garage
  • Re-designed the conditions of a number of Personal Missions
  • Updated the filter and indicator of Personal Reserves. The number of Personal Reserves available for activation is now displayed below the player's nickname instead of the "blue lightning with a plus sign" icon
  • Disabled the Rampage mode, missions for the mode and the Firestorm campaign
  • Updated rules of Platoon creation:
    • Players can join a battle in a Platoon that has any set of vehicles (regardless of their tiers)
    • Players will see a notification recommending them to assemble a Platoon where all vehicles are of the same tier (for doing so, the players in the Platoon will receive a bonus to their Experience)
    • If all vehicles in the Platoon are of the same tier (and the tier is greater than III), all Platoon members will receive a bonus after the battle (the amount of which depends on the tier of the vehicles in the Platoon; the higher the tier, the larger the bonus)
    • If there is a more than three-level difference between the maximum and minimum tiers of the vehicles in the Platoon, the players in such a Platoon will be penalized in Experience (the penalty amount depends on the difference in tiers)

Technical Improvements

  • Optimized the interfaces of drop-down menus and tooltips
  • The minimap setting that enables/disables the display of the spot where enemy vehicles were spotted last will now be set to "Always" by default, including for those players who had it set as "Never" before the update
  • The internal WoT Awesomium browser now uses Chromium Embedded Framework
  • Performed a switch to the CoreEngine 3.0 graphical engine allowing for an increase in performance of up to 30%, including:
    • Average FPS has significantly increased for the Improved Graphics preset
    • Average FPS has slightly increased (up to 15%) for the Standard Graphics preset
  • Reworked the system of FX lighting for the Improved Graphics preset. As a result, smoke and explosions now look more natural
  • Added the ability to use the modern DX11 graphics API
  • Improved the display of decals (inscriptions, emblems, and hit marks). The decals now have a better appearance when examined at various distances. This did not affect the Clan icons uploaded by players

Recommendation: To fix the unstable behavior of the NVIDIA driver in SLI mode with DirectX 11, please install driver version 365.10.

The DX11 renderer will automatically turn on for the video cards that support it. If your video card/operating system does not support DX11, the DX9 renderer will be used instead. The difference in renderers does not affect the game settings.
