Lafayette G. Pool

Lafayette G. Pool is widely recognized as the U.S. best tank ace, who is credited with 12 confirmed tank kills and 258 destroyed armored vehicles in total. He was awarded a Silver Star and a Distinguished Service Cross. Despite losing a leg, he returned into service.

Epic Medal in honor of Lafayette G. Pool:

Awarded to players in vehicles of Tier V or higher for destroying 10 to 13 enemy vehicles in one battle. Unavailable in Clan Wars.

Creighton Williams Abrams

General Creighton Abrams commanded U.S. armored forces during WWII and the Vietnam War, earning a reputation as successful commander.

Stage Award in honor of Creighton Williams Abrams:

Awarded in one of four classes for the total number of team victories in which the player survived the battle: Class IV—5 victories, Class III—50 victories, Class II—500 victories, Class I—5,000 victories.

Preserving Tank History

Restoring iconic vehicles

In 2016, Wargaming returned the unique Australian AC1 Sentinel tank back to its homeland. With Wargaming’s help the rare vehicle (only three currently exist in the world) journeyed from Texas, USA, to Cairns, Australia, where it underwent renovation before being unveiled to the public.

Historical tanks

First, a vehicle to be recreated is chosen; photographic references, technical documentation and blueprints are gathered and analyzed, and field trips to museums are organized. Then the modeling assignment with hundreds of parameters is composed. The resulting 3D tank model is submitted for approval by historians who check all the details down to the separate rivets and small weld defects against the technical assignment.
