Join us this weekend as we commemorate the Battle of Flers-Courcelette, considered to be the first modern tank battle! In the midst of World War I, trench warfare rendered battlefields nearly impassable to foot soldiers. The British devised a solution: an armored vehicle designed to pass across trenches while protecting soldiers inside. This design would ultimately become a tank.
