Complaint System

The system allows players to report others without using the relatively cumbersome procedure of contacting technical support staff by e-mail or via the portal.

To exclude the possibility of sending multiple ungrounded reports, the system allows only a limited number of complaints per player.

A player receives an informant ranking. The ranking decreases for false complaints, increases for justified complaints, and remains unchanged if complaint reports are unprocessed. Low ranking informants will be penalised. The number of complaints per player a day (a battle) is limited and depends on the ranking.

The system of rewards and penalties for valid or, conversely, false complaint reports is based on a limited number of complaints per player a day. Assessing complaints based on informant’s reliability is not required.

A player, filing a complaint and whose complaints are confirmed as valid, increases her/his ranking; false complaints, correspondingly decrease the ranking. Players with low rankings can be altogether disconnected from the complaint system; the standard venue of e-mails and web will still be available. Unused complaints are not transferred to a next day (battle) and cannot be accumulated.

A fully functional complaint system is available on battle screen during ranked battles (everything but training rooms); it is partially available on garage screen. Complaints are submitted by pressing «Ctrl» and right-clicking on a corresponding player in battle screen. Informants may choose from several complaint options in a pop-up context menu. Input fields are not available.

Complaint options, sorted by frequency of use:

  1. Insult and provocation
  2. Unfair play
  3. Team damage
  4. Bot

Note: To access this menu rules and requirements may apply. That is, a player will need to have an N number of battles in order to report complaints.

Insult or provocation
A complaint referring to chat logs: bypassing swear-filters, personal insults, etc. Multiple complaints will lead to examination of player’s chat longs.

Unfair play
A complaint referring to intentional blockings of team vehicles. Passing onto enemy information about team location and damage conditions is considered to be a violation.

Team damage
Intentional infliction of damage is tracked automatically. A report would be considered as credible if it points at an obvious team-killer or team-damager in terms of the automated system (if there is no way to check a specific battle).

Bot
A player must be checked in terms of her/his presence in a bot-master search system. With a significant number of complaints against a player it makes sense to check her/his battle performance (average experience, number of tanks destroyed, damaged, etc.).

Complaint processing scheme

No complaint is considered separately. Game masters do not receive entries of a kind: "Player John Doe accused Jane Doe of bullying his favourite Tiger.” The review process is statistical. Complaints are the basis for viewing user’s logs.

Simply put, the complaint review is based on daily, consolidated statistics. Game masters open a daily complaint list and by sorting find the most odious players to be penalized in the first place. Game masters check validity of complaints with appropriate interfaces and note complaints as valid or false. As a result of this operation odious users receive a penalty (this will involve supporting backyard interfaces), and informants will have their ranking changed.

Since logs are kept for a limited time, the maximum period of complaints review is 14 days. After two weeks, unprocessed complaints are written off, and informant’s ranking does not change.

Note: Foul language complaints in a voice chat are not reviewed.
