The Jagdtiger 8,8 has an imposing profile, tough frontal armor and a tremendous rate of fire!

Basics | Play Style | Loadout

Jagdtiger 8,8: The Basics

  • Tier VIII Premium tank destroyer
  • Very accurate gun with a good rate of fire
  • Earns lots of Credits, great Crew trainer
  • Won't see above tier IX unless Platooned with a non-preferential tank
  • Back in-game for a limited time!

Play Style

  • Take it slow and don't get isolated -- have support from medium and heavy tanks
  • Excels at sniping when not at the top of the team list, or close support when it is!
  • Use excellent DPM to whittle away at the HP of almost every tier VIII tank
  • Won't win any races -- watch the minimap regularly in case you need to relocate!
  • You may need Premium ammo and HE shells to penetrate or immobilize enemy high-tier tanks, or to reset a base capture.

Loadout:

These are only suggestions! Feel free to see what works best for you.
Consumables
The standard pack of Small First Aid Kit, Small Repair Kit and a Manual Fire Extinguisher is the economical way to go, while a Large Repair and First Aid Kits actually reduce the chance of damage or Crew injury from random artillery and HE shells.
Equipment

Alternatively, a Large Spall Liner can minimize damage from enemy artillery and HE shells, Coated Optics can help you snipe, and if your crew has no repair skills, a Toolbox can come in handy!

Crew Skills and Perks

Crew Skills should emphasize view range and (unusually for tank destroyers), prioritize Repairs over Camouflage. Opponents will try and track and then outflank you, so boosting Repairs can be very beneficial. Finally, Safe Stowage reduces the chance of debilitating ammo rack damage. Brothers in Arms will increase all the Crew's Skills.
